I could not compare though, how much you saved for purchasing this months box, since these items are sample sized and I do not have the prices for these sample sizes.  But I'm definitely excited to try all of these products out, since again, this will be my first time to use a Shiseido product, (because they're so pricey).

I will just be so sad, when I get to prove that they actually do work on my skin because, I can not continue using it, since I could not afford them (boohuhu).

How about those of you who received their August BDJ Boxes already, what are your thoughts on this months box?

DIY: Shadow box frame out of old BDJ boxes

Hi readers! Thank you for taking time to read my blog. Anyway I will be showing you how I recycled my BDJ boxes by making my own shadow box frames.

I had some treasures thay i've been meaning to display but won't fit in a flat picture frame. Buying a shadow box is not an option because its expensive. Therefore I decided to make one.

All of the items I've used in this project I already had. Did not need to buy a single item. Below is the list of the things that you would need if you want to make a shadow box of your own.

1. Box with a detachable lid. I made mine from my BDJ boxes. You may also use shoe boxes.
2. A pair of scissors and cutter
3. Double sided tape or glue gun (or any form of stronger adhesive)
4. Decorated Craft paper/gift wrapper/scrapbooking paper
5. Acetate
6. Some sort of decorative thingamabobs for you box
7. And ofcourse your precious items that you want to put in the box and display.

How to make the shadow box:
1. Remove the lid of the box and cut out a window for your frame. The width of the frame is up to you.

2. Cut pieces of 1 inch thick cardboard to make the actual frame of the lid. I made use of the piece which i cut out from the window. I stuck the pieces of the cardboard on the side of the window. On the other hand, I already arranged my treasures on the inside of the box.

3. Cut strips of scrapbooking paper or gift wrapping paper according to the size of your frame, then glue it to the frame. Afterwards, place the acetate on the inside of the lid, the acetate will serve as the glass of your shadow box frame.

4. Once you have stuck your paper strips on the frame lid. You may decorate to your hearts content. Below is the photo of the second one I made. Its about our wedding day, inside the shadow box frame is our veil, chord, my head veil, garter and a studded clip that was used on my hair.

I hope that this helped and inspired you to make your own shadow box frame!

Recent Ebay Haul

Hi everyone! I just want to share with you my recent Ebay mini haul.  I bought brushes and I also bought from my sister a concealer palette which she also got from Ebay.
Items from Ebay

In the picture below, is my existing concealer palette, which I also bought from my sister. If you noticed I've hit pan on most of them that's why I got a second one as my backup because I love them. I bought this palette for 300 pesos each from my sister.
Concealer Palette

In the photo below, is my Ecotools brush set. I won this from Ebay, meaning I did not purchase it directly for their fixed price, but rather I bid for it. I got this Ecotools set for only $6.50 (approximately 280.24 pesos). The set includes a blush brush, an eyeshadow brush, concealer brush and a brow groomer.

This is my first Ecotools brush and I am currently using the blush brush and its nice and soft.
Ecotools brush set

Now on the photo below, the one with the black handle and huge brush, is the powder brush that I also won. This one I got for $3.36 (approximately 144.87 pesos).  This is sable hair, and the first few times I washed it it kept on bleeding and shedding. But now, no bleeding and only a few hair is shedding.

So that's my mini Ebay haul. If you have any questions about the items I bought please leave a comment. You may also check my youtube video.

Thank you!

Review: Revlon Nail Art Expressionist

Good day readers! I hope you have or had a great day.

Well this will be a review on the item that I recently got from the April BDJ Box. The Revlon Nail Art Expressionist. According to BDJ, that this is a limited edition and that this nail art duo is priced at 375.00.

This being a duo, you get on one side your base color, while on the other side is the nail art or design.  Also, it has a simple easy to follow instructions on the actual label.

What they sent me was in the number 350 ULTERIOR MOTIF. The base color is grayish black, while the nail design is a combination of tiny pink glitter with larger circular glitters.

With regards to brush, for the base color, you get the regular nail varnish brush, on the glitter side, you will have a much thinner but sturdier brush in order for you to have more control on the amount of glitters you want to use.

Color pay off is great, with two coats of the base color, it was already beautiful. And then the glitter, you may add as much as you want.  Also I noticed that this is quite quick drying. In addition, I put it on last Monday and noticed that it only started chipping off on Thursday, that is a total of three days. Given that I did my usual household chores like, washing the dishes and doing light laundry.

All in all, I am liking this so far. Color pay off is great, there is a good amount of glitter , and it dries fairly quick. But I could not pull this design off for everyday office use, since it is so glittery. I might use this for going out on weekends when I want to look funky and fun.

There you go! That's my review of the Revlon Nail Art Expressionist! I hope you find this informative and I wish you like it!

Hugs and kisses!

April BDJ Box

Yay! Yesterday I got home to a surprise, my April BDJ Box just arrived.  This is my second box, March's box theme was Paris. Items includes L'oreal Paris products.  This months box theme is Oh so Fresh.

Oh for those who don't know what BDJ Box is, it's a monthly beauty subscription box, with several payment options. You pay 480.00 for the box, but you get more than what you pay for.  You can check more information about how to purchase a box  from http://www.bdjbox.com.

So lets get on with the contents of the April box.

First is a sample size of the Bifesta Age Care Cleansing Lotion.  300ml priced at 419 pesos.  Conveniently remove your makeup with the power of oil cleansing minus the oily feeling! Bifesta Cleansing Lotion is Japan's first ever water based makeup remover that not only cleanses, but nourishes deep down the skin. Use this to cleanse your face after a long day of wearing makeup.

Tried to remove my waterproof eyeliner and mascara with it. Indeed it did not leave any oily residue and it did remove my waterproof eyeliner. But I found myself having the need to really work with it to remove my makeup, unlike the oil based removers.

Second is 2 packs of the Garnier Light Intensive 3 in 1 Whitening Essence Mask.  The 19ml pack is priced at 89 pesos.  Reveal radiant and hydrated skin with Garnier's intensive 3 in 1 whitening essence mask. Its three major contents help lighten skin tone, remove dead cells, refine texture, retain water inside the skin for hydration.  Great refresher for tired, dull skin, may be used before makeup! See a blooming glowing you. For best results, use 2x a week.

I have never tried a mask before, so I could not compare it to other products.  But I have already tried it last night, and after putting it on for 15 minutes, it indeed left my skin hydrated and refreshed.  Don't know though if I would purchase this, since again I am not into facial masks.

Third is a full size (30ml) of Avon Anew 360○ White Day Cream, priced at 799.  Get rid of impurity transform into flawless skin, Anew 360 White Day Cream is specially designed for Asian women with its advanced formulation to help moisturize all-day long while reaching a radiantly white skin.

I am really glad that this was included in the box, because I am a user of this product and I just ran out of it. Clap, clap, clap, I need not buy, especially that this cost 799, saved on this one!

Fourth is another full size product, 120ml priced at 349. The Celeteque Hydrolized Moisturizing Mist. Beat the heat with a mist! Use before makeup to prep your skin with a moisture. Celeteque's Hydrolized Moisturizing Mist is formulated with Fuji water that contains minerals for skin rejuvenation, elasticity and suppleness.  Use this in the middle of the day for an instant refresh.

Once again, this will be my first time trying out a product like this.  And I am looking forward to try this out and see how it does.

Fifth Is another full size product. 250ml at 350 pesos, the Avon SSS Glutathione Lotion with Marula. Infuse your skin with a powerful moisturizer! Avon's #1 Skin So Soft Lotiin is now enriched with Africa's "Miracle Oil" - Marula, that deeply hydrates and nourishes the skin. Use twice a day and feel the difference!

I am not too excited about trying out this product.  I am not into whitening, but it is nice to have especially that it is a full size.

Sixth is another full sized product, priced at 375.  Revlon Nail Art Expressionist,  have a rocky candy finish with Revlon's limited edition nail art duos! Rock your nails with a holographic glitter top coat illuminated by the dark cream base coat and get fab, cosmic look.

I am a nail product fan, so this one, given that its a limited edition is a thumbs up for me.

Seventh is a sample size of the Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum, a 100ml bottle is priced at 2,950. Embody the smell of fruity bouquet blending with musk, dewberry, and purple freesia notes. Selena Gomez's head-turning perfume is perfect for this summer scent as final touch to your outfit of the day. Embody the star's fresh and sweet personality with Selena Gomez Eau de Parfum.

Not much to say about this. I am also not a fan of perfumes, but still glad to receive this.

Eight is a set of Goody Slide Proof Pins and Elastics, 2 clips and 2 elastics cost 449.75. Fix your hair in style! Use a Goody classic - slide proof bobby pins - to avoid hair kinks! Have a finely styled 'do while avoiding unwanted pimples caused by hair covering your face. Use Goody elastics to tie your hair up and you are good to go!

While i myself would not buy a bobby pin and hair tie if its that expensive, i would just loose it after I use anyway. But again, this is nice to have.

Lastly they added in Vouchers for

  • Belletoday Personalized weightloss coaching with Dr. Jean-Michel Cohen. - would not be able to use this, since we do not have this in Davao City.
  • Bioessence Premium Pass , free Aroma Facial or foot reflex - excited to use this for the free facial.
  • Goody 20% OFF coupon - I am interested to use this.

Plus one bonus item, a full size of the Candi Nail Polish Remover Wipes.    30 pcs would cost 65 pesos.  No mess, no spill - just easy to use. Meet your new nail polish remover buddy! Candi helps you remove your nail polish hassle-free. It doesn't just help you, but keeps you from dry nails and fingers! Its acetone-free feature transforms your nail time into fun time.

Well I would love use this product hoping that it would live up to its promise of a hassle free time in removing my nail polish.

Well that's it. For those who already received their April box, I hope you liked it as much as I do. And for those who are interested to buy a box, I recommend you do. It's like receiving a gift every month, and so far I have been liking what I have been receiving from BDJ!

L.A. Girl USA Lip Liner Review

Was able to get hold of this lip liners from L.A. Girl for only Php 48.00.  I bought this from a convenience store when I was buying milk for my baby. Actually I was not expecting to find cosmetics from the convenience store, but they had a rack for L.A. Colors and they were selling a bunch of different products, from liquid foundations, pressed powders, eyeshadows, blushes, lip glosses, eyeliners and lip liners.

Anyway, what I got was two lip liners, one in red (Forever Red) and the other one was an old rose color (Party Pink).  Color pay off is great, you can wear it alone or just with a clear lip gloss.  It has a creamy consistency, but not to the point that it is sticky and greasy.  Also it has no annoying scent or taste. On the picture above, i wore the Forever Red on my upper lip, while the Party Pink on the lower lip. Pretty much I am happy with it, because it has great pigmentation plus it is so affordable.

I would really recommend this lip liner.  And if you have already tried this, please share your thoughts on the product.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.  Hope you could drop by next time!

ANEW Genics Eye Treatment and ANEW 360○ Protective Cream

I have been conscious lately with my under eye wrinkles. Whenever I put a color corrector on my under eye circles, the more I get to notice them.  And so I was in search for an eye cream.

I know eye creams could be a bit expensive.  And when I learned that AVON has a promo on their eye cream, I looked for my nearest Avon lady (sounds like their tagline, ha ha ha), good thing a neighbor was an Avon lady.  The ANEW Genics Eye Treatment which was priced at Php 1299.00, now you can buy it for only Php 699.00.  As long as you buy something else from a specific list of other Anew products.  What I got together with the eye cream to avail of the discounted price, was the ANEW 360○ White Protective Cream, regular price was Php 499.00, and now they are selling it at Php 299.00.

The ANEW Genics Eye Treatment promises that "In 3 days, the appearance of lines and wrinkles is diminished and a youthful brilliance is visibly restored.", written on the box.  While the ANEW 360○ White Protective Cream has an SPF20/PA++ ( I do not know what PA++ means, if you know please leave me a comment). It also boasts that "With continued used*: 94% of women exhibited improvement in skin clarity and translucency. *Results based on a dermatologist-supervised clinical study", according to the box.

My eye, a "Before" photo, with its fine lines.

ANEW products still in their boxes.

Nice protective packaging. Eye Treatment

ANEW Genics Eye Treatment 15g jar.

ANEW 360○  White Protective Cream, 15g jar.
I will be trying out these products, and I will let you know of the results whenever I believe that I have used the products long enough to show results.  If you already tried these or one of these products, please let us know what you think about them.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, appreciate it a lot.

DIY: Eye makeup remover

Would like to share how I made my own waterproof eye make up remover.

I have been using the Etude house mascara remover for the longest time, and so far it has been working well, since it removes almost all my waterproof mascara and waterproof liquid liner. Plus it does not sting my eyes.  An 80ml bottle would cost roughly Php200.00, and I would go through one bottle in just one month.

Since make-up remover is at the bottom of my list when it comes to makeup purchases, I thought on how I could save and find a cheaper alternative.  And so I scoured the net for "at home", "DIY"s make up remover.  And I found the easiest version.

It's just basically extra virgin olive oil, mine cost only 122.00 and water.  What I did is, with my empty mascara remover bottle.  I filled it with 1/3 water and 2/3 extra virgin olive oil. And now, I have my very own eye make-up remover.  This really is a cost saving alternative to my 200 pesos eye makeup remover compared to the 122 pesos bottle of extra virgin olive oil which I haven't used up yet.

Extra virgin olive oil, Php122.00

Extra virgin olive oil with water (shake well before using)

Eyes with waterproof mascara and liquid eyeliner

Eyes after using my DIY eye makeup remover

Used two cotton balls for each eye.

Maybe you have another version of a DIY makeup remover,  share it with us by leaving  a comment below.

Usable baskets made out of old brown folders

When my office mates where doing their general cleaning towards the end of the year, last year. Part of their activity was to tidy up their filing cabinets. With it, they had to discard old, torn and mutilated brown filing folders.  Brown filing folders were mostly used because, its more sturdy and its cheaper too.  Looking at the stack of folders ready to be disposed, I thought it will be such a waste to just throw them away.

So, the crafty side of me popped in. I sorted through the pile of folders, and got those that are, well usable. Cut it into 1 inch thick strips, or .5 inch whichever you prefer,  and weaved them together and then a few minutes after, voila a basket.

Different sizes of baskets made from brown folder. The smallest basket in the middle was made using 1/2 inch strips.

Basket in use. Colored this one black using left over spray paint.
Items used to make the basket:
● Scissors
● Used brown folders
● Paper clips, to temporarily hold the ends
● Clear tape/hot glue, but hot glue is better to permanently hold the ends with

* Of course you need to know the basic concept of weaving.

So the next time you have folders for disposal, think twice before throwing them away, you might still find a good use for them.

Maybe you have other recycle projects that you would like to share, let me know.

My kikay baby

I'd just like to share that It's so amusing to see that my little girl is so interested in raiding my make-up kit.  Everytime she sees it, she eagerly digs in or she orders me to open it up when it is still zipped.  She rummages through my make up brushes, and strokes her face with it acting as if shes putting on foundation.  Opens every compact and wipes her face with the powder puff. And when it comes to my lash curler, she puts it against her eyes and says "eyes". And to think that my little girl is just one and four months old, but she has been doing this for months already.

I think she gets this by observing me every morning while I do my make-up.  She would sit on my lap and observe me through the mirror in front of us.

My husband is worried that she might start using make-up at a very young age because of this (ha ha ha, overprotective father).  But I do not think so, she's just mimicking what I am doing being that i'm her mother.  What do you think?

What's in my travel make-up kit

I am fortunate enough that I get to travel free because of my work.  This may mean that I get to stay only overnight or even for one whole week. Nevertheless, since I will be meeting with clients, I need to look presentable, thus having my make-up kit is really important.  But bringing and choosing  what is essential is very difficult, specially if you have a lot of make-up items to begin with.  You don't want to be carrying with you all your precious make-up, it might break or get lost along the way.

Thankfull for mother-in-laws

If you did not know, I am a mother of a very active one year and three month old baby girl. My baby is just mastering walking, which also means, she goes to places that she is not supposed to go to. Like the bathroom and the laundry area, where she might slip. Under the sink and table where she might bump her head. Climbing on the couch and pulling the curtain. And i could go on and on..... But what I am trying to say is that, my little girl is beginning to be a handfull.
