L.A. Girl USA Lip Liner Review

Was able to get hold of this lip liners from L.A. Girl for only Php 48.00.  I bought this from a convenience store when I was buying milk for my baby. Actually I was not expecting to find cosmetics from the convenience store, but they had a rack for L.A. Colors and they were selling a bunch of different products, from liquid foundations, pressed powders, eyeshadows, blushes, lip glosses, eyeliners and lip liners.

Anyway, what I got was two lip liners, one in red (Forever Red) and the other one was an old rose color (Party Pink).  Color pay off is great, you can wear it alone or just with a clear lip gloss.  It has a creamy consistency, but not to the point that it is sticky and greasy.  Also it has no annoying scent or taste. On the picture above, i wore the Forever Red on my upper lip, while the Party Pink on the lower lip. Pretty much I am happy with it, because it has great pigmentation plus it is so affordable.

I would really recommend this lip liner.  And if you have already tried this, please share your thoughts on the product.  Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.  Hope you could drop by next time!

ANEW Genics Eye Treatment and ANEW 360○ Protective Cream

I have been conscious lately with my under eye wrinkles. Whenever I put a color corrector on my under eye circles, the more I get to notice them.  And so I was in search for an eye cream.

I know eye creams could be a bit expensive.  And when I learned that AVON has a promo on their eye cream, I looked for my nearest Avon lady (sounds like their tagline, ha ha ha), good thing a neighbor was an Avon lady.  The ANEW Genics Eye Treatment which was priced at Php 1299.00, now you can buy it for only Php 699.00.  As long as you buy something else from a specific list of other Anew products.  What I got together with the eye cream to avail of the discounted price, was the ANEW 360○ White Protective Cream, regular price was Php 499.00, and now they are selling it at Php 299.00.

The ANEW Genics Eye Treatment promises that "In 3 days, the appearance of lines and wrinkles is diminished and a youthful brilliance is visibly restored.", written on the box.  While the ANEW 360○ White Protective Cream has an SPF20/PA++ ( I do not know what PA++ means, if you know please leave me a comment). It also boasts that "With continued used*: 94% of women exhibited improvement in skin clarity and translucency. *Results based on a dermatologist-supervised clinical study", according to the box.

DIY: Eye makeup remover

Would like to share how I made my own waterproof eye make up remover.

I have been using the Etude house mascara remover for the longest time, and so far it has been working well, since it removes almost all my waterproof mascara and waterproof liquid liner. Plus it does not sting my eyes.  An 80ml bottle would cost roughly Php200.00, and I would go through one bottle in just one month.

Since make-up remover is at the bottom of my list when it comes to makeup purchases, I thought on how I could save and find a cheaper alternative.  And so I scoured the net for "at home", "DIY"s make up remover.  And I found the easiest version.

It's just basically extra virgin olive oil, mine cost only 122.00 and water.  What I did is, with my empty mascara remover bottle.  I filled it with 1/3 water and 2/3 extra virgin olive oil. And now, I have my very own eye make-up remover.  This really is a cost saving alternative to my 200 pesos eye makeup remover compared to the 122 pesos bottle of extra virgin olive oil which I haven't used up yet.

Extra virgin olive oil, Php122.00

Usable baskets made out of old brown folders

When my office mates where doing their general cleaning towards the end of the year, last year. Part of their activity was to tidy up their filing cabinets. With it, they had to discard old, torn and mutilated brown filing folders.  Brown filing folders were mostly used because, its more sturdy and its cheaper too.  Looking at the stack of folders ready to be disposed, I thought it will be such a waste to just throw them away.

So, the crafty side of me popped in. I sorted through the pile of folders, and got those that are, well usable. Cut it into 1 inch thick strips, or .5 inch whichever you prefer,  and weaved them together and then a few minutes after, voila a basket.

Different sizes of baskets made from brown folder. The smallest basket in the middle was made using 1/2 inch strips.

Basket in use. Colored this one black using left over spray paint.
Items used to make the basket:
● Scissors
● Used brown folders
● Paper clips, to temporarily hold the ends
● Clear tape/hot glue, but hot glue is better to permanently hold the ends with

* Of course you need to know the basic concept of weaving.

So the next time you have folders for disposal, think twice before throwing them away, you might still find a good use for them.

Maybe you have other recycle projects that you would like to share, let me know.
